President John F. Kennedy, his wife, Jackie, and their children at the familyâs Palm Beach, Florida, estate on Easter Sunday, April 14, 1963.
The Kennedys might be the closest thing Americans have to royalty, and soon the contents of one of their homes will be on the auction block. Leslie Hindman Auctioneers will sell items from the Palm Beach, Florida, home of Ambassador Joseph P. Kennedy, which was known as the Winter White House when his son John F. Kennedy was in office.
The Mediterranean Revivalâstyle residence, designed by Addison Mizner, was in the Kennedy family for more than 60 years until John and Marianne Castle bought it furnished in 1995, the Palm Beach Daily News reports. The Castles, who sold the house this year for $31 million, are consigning the items.
